Analyze The Dance: Armin van Buuren “A State Of Trance 618”

It seems that every DJ on the planet has a podcast. Armin van Buuren has A State Of Trance, Above & Beyond has Group Therapy, Ferry Corsten has Corsten’s Countdown, and Tritonal has Tritonia. The Tritonal podcast used to be called Air Up There, but they recently changed the name. Oh, and how can I forget about Planet Perfecto. I told you EVERY DJ has a podcast.

We are going to start featuring podcasts here on Relentless Beats. Each feature will include a short review of the podcast, a complete track listing, and even a way for you to listen to the entire podcast right here on the blog. We will be featuring different podcasts each week showcasing some of the bigger names and introducing you to names you have never heard of. This week we are going to listen to A State Of Trance 618.

Armin is one of the biggest, if not the biggest name in electronic dance music. He is also one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He is on the top of the DJ Mag Top 100, and A State Of Trance is one of the most downloaded podcasts online. You can even find ASOT stages at all the big festivals featuring names that have appeared on his podcast.

This week we listen to episode 618 and dance to names like Super8 & Tab, Myon & Shane 54, Cosmic Gate, Aly & Fila and many more. The podcast is also filled with remixes from some big names on some big labels.

Armin continues to deliver with every new release, and his A State Of Trance podcast is no exception. There might be 30 tracks in this episode, but you never get bored. I was never once trying to search for the next track. I will say my favorite track this week is the Myon & Shane54 remix of the Lana Del Rey hit “Young & Beautiful.”
