DESTROID brings Excision, Downlink and KJ Sawka Together for Live Dubstep Band

The DESTROID project has finally come to fruition live on stage, for the first time ever, in San Francisco. Excision, Downlink and KJ Sawka have all donned their dystopian inlfuenced outfits on stage and performed a live set in front of fans- further revolutionizing the way bass music is experienced in person.

Complete with drums and custom guitar-like instruments with built in synths and samplers the trio bring a unique experience to the stage alongside the production and visual elements.

Their latest album, The Invasion, released last month featured collaborations with Bassnectar, Space Laces and several others. The album follows a story line set in motion by an accompanied comic that features DESTROID as the creators of a subsonic signal meant to rally the citizens of a dystopian society into rising up against corrupt government rule.

Excision, Downlink, Space Laces – Destroid 1. Raise Your Fist

At first glance this concept seems very “metal” and in all honesty, it is. The first track on their new album, titled “Destroid 1. Raise Your Fist”, features a robotic narrative with a very eery dark sound bed instructing the listener that “Your democracy is an illusion, global mind control must be stopped, we must unite as one to save your planet…” Cue bass driven anarchy. A sample of the words “Raise Your Fist” and some heavy, dark and deep sounds keep you entrenched as you listen to drums and bass come together in a way that’s sure to make a crowd jump.

Check out the album for yourself and keep an eye out for DESTROID as they start to make their way to stages around the country.
