Masked Music Producer Claptone Takes Over BBC RADIO1 with Essential Mix

The masked Berlin-based producer, Claptone, took control of BBC Radio1’s Essential Mix this weekend with a two-hour journey of musical enchantment into the mystery that is Claptone.

Claptone, who has been releasing off of the German label Exploited, initially sparked the interest of many deep house lovers with his brilliant single “Cream”, a remix of the legendary hip-hop track by Wu-Tang Clan, which rode a lengthy wave on the Beatport Top 10 list for Deep House. Since then, the power of Claptone’s force has been undeniable. The musical entity has been bringing out an unrelenting line of hits, such as the persistent beats of Claptone’s original track “Another Night”, a chilled remix to RUFUS’s “Sundream”, and the melodic remix to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s “Ghost”, all which have gained attention from a variety of producers from A-Trak to Soul Clap and have all held a spot on Beatport’s Deep House Top 10 as well. With so much success, it’s no surprise Claptone’s time has come to present the world with a highly coveted Essential Mix. The two-hour mix reaches out to a variety of different music styles, featuring tracks from funk legend, James Brown, Belgian producer The Magician, and even The White Stripes.

Having just released a trailer for the unprecedented live audio visual show, Immortal, in which Claptone teams up with creative director Peter Martin to deliver an experience to all five senses, along with celebrating the success of the latest singles “The Music Got Me” and “Liquid Spirit” on the Beatport Top 10, this year seems to be the year that all eyes will be on Claptone.
