RB Weekend Preview: Hands in the Sky, Go Hard, Here We Go!

This weekend we have just about everything you could ask for if you looking to go hard! In the next three days we will be bringing you a Psyko Hardstyle show, an Electro spectacle that will leave you with feelings of withdrawal, a Mayhem filled Trapanese extravaganza, and a day of Trance by the pool that will cause you to surrender yourself to the music. Get Mental With Psyko Punkz at BRKFST@Nite (5/29 9:00pm)

 It is a very special thing when a Hardstyle show comes through town and Psyko Punkz will be delivering one to us on this very weekend. This Dutch duo, consisting of Sven Sieperda and Wietse Amersfoort, will be inflicting upon us their unique and hard-hitting take on the subgenre with the assistance of Scottsdale restaurant and nightclub, BRKFST. As of late, these Hardstyle tastemakers have been touring Europe with festivals like FantasyLand in Holland as well as Hardfest on Kingsday, and now they make their way to Arizona to treat us to their relentless sounds. Check out my take on the Hardstyle Experience here, where I explore my first Hardstyle event and how the genre changed my perspective on the dance scene. Whether this is your first, second, third, or fifty-ninth Hardstyle show, this is going to be quite the experience!

Commit Yourself to R3hab at Release (5/30 11:00am)

 Oh man has it been awhile since Arizona has had the pleasure of relishing in a R3hab performance! Take the opportunity this Saturday and witness one of the most energetic and sweat-inducing DJs around today; and his energy is far from the only thing he’s famous for. R3hab, or Fadil El Ghoul, is one of the most requested remixers in the industry having done work for artists including Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Tiesto, Pitbull, and Calvin Harris among others. In addition, R3hab has also came out with a number of original tracks including “Samurai (Go Hard)”, “Ready for the Weekend” with Nervo, and “Flashlight” with Panda Funk master, Deorro. Turning Trapanese with Mayhem and Ricky Remedy (5/30 9:00pm)

 For all of you bass lovers out there, the Monarch Theatre is the place to be this Saturday night! Mayhem has a long history of playing with genres. Having started out as a Drum and Bass producer, Mayhem received early attention from the likes of Andy C, Dieselboy, and many others. This attention led to him touring around the world from his home turf in Atlanta to Australia to Japan to Europe and even more. Through experience and various influences, like many DnB producers before him, Mayhem began to find his true calling in Dubstep. However, despite this transformation, he kept up with his Drum and Bass work, blending it with his Dubstep as well. With a firm grasp on the two genres mentioned, Mayhem decided to take it one step further, and as you can tell from the title of this tour, he is now blending Trap with Dubstep to create a sound unlike any other. Bassheads make your way to the Monarch this weekend for an explosive experience that is sure to leave you breathless, not to mention a special mix from Ricky Remedy!

Find the Inner You with Ashley Wallbridge at Release (5/31 11:00am)

 Trance hero and Armada Records favorite, Ashley Wallbridge shows off his musical diversity this Sunday at the Release Pool Party at Talking Stick Resort with a free show! Back in 2012, Wallbridge released his debut album entitled “The Inner Me”, an album chock-full of beautiful trance hymns, soul-finding anthems, and fast-paced heart-racers. But, Ashley Wallbridge really knows how to please a crowd, so expect these tracks to be laced in with other crowd favorites that are sure to get the party going. Having developed a much larger music catalog since 2012, including a number of collabs and remixes, we can expect something especially exciting from Mr. Wallbridge. With the busy weekend closing out on Sunday, make sure to make one final splash at Ashley Wallbridge where you are sure to find the inner you, just as he did… for FREE!
