Relentless Beats

Singer, Dancer, Producer, Radio Host: DJ Alex Angelo Is A Quadruple Threat

If you’re looking for a pick-me-up on a bad day, this won’t be it. Think about what you were doing when you were fourteen. I was painfully shy and had three boxes of Barbie Dolls. Kids like Alex Angelo are a bit different. At fourteen years old, he is the youngest nationally syndicated radio host in the country. Cool right? Let’s just tack on that he sings, dances, and produces his own songs for this radio show. OK, I’m a loser.

This one-man show is a cross between Kidz Bop and EDM. He’s Justin Bieber and Calvin Harris rolled into one. He began mixing at just 10 years old on his father’s iPod, and with a blink of an eye he’s toured with Pitbull, Justin Bieber and Fifth Harmony. He’s currently on tour performing his twelve hits that have all appeared on Disney Channel and Radio Disney.

He looks much older than he actually is, and surprisingly sounds a lot less Kidz Bop-y than I’d imagine.

Alex Angelo, “Dirty Work”

Angelo’s music falls more on the pop side, but I can’t really criticize since I can barely do the Cotton Eyed Joe let alone sing and produce it too. He’s certainly a force to be reckoned with. At just fourteen, he’s got the rest of his life to perfect his sound.

What’s next for Alex Angelo? He’s taking New York by storm along with a star-studded line-up to perform at the Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day presented by Hess on August 29.. In White Plains, he’ll be joined by Jacob Whitesides, Natalie La Rose and Bea Miler to spend the day celebrating legendary pioneer Arthur Ashe. There will be tennis games geared for families hosted by Serena Williams as the musical guests perform the day away.

Alex Angelo, “Move Like This”

“It’s an historic occasion for Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, as we mark two decades of bringing the best in tennis and music together on a truly special day for families,” said Gordon Smith, USTA Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. “The event also captures the spirit and vigor of Arthur Ashe and is a fantastic way of encouraging youth to be active in tennis and life, while developing healthy habits early on.”

If you’re lucky enough to be in New York to see DJ Alex Angelo perform live,  I envy you. If not, I’m sure you’ll see this handsome entertainer extraordinaire branching out beyond Disney Channel very soon.
