The Relentless Beat of the Week: Kill The Noise – “Kill It 4 The Kids” (Slander Remix)

Wow. Heaven has gone dark with this one. This track may be a remix, but unlike most reworkings of songs, Slander has taken Kill the Noise‘s “Kill It 4 The Kids” and made it as close to entirely their own as possible. Skill as such is commendable, especially during a time in electronic music where remixes are coming out left and right from artists both new and old, each one looking to stand out apart from the original. A lot of times the remixes to tracks serve as a pleasant change of pace to the original, allowing you to entertain yourself with something slightly out of the ordinary. Slander has made this remix an exception to that observation.

With that said, this week’s Relentless Beat of the Week is here to put this exceptional rendering of originality on display. Take a whiff of Slander’s remix of Kill the Noise’s “Kill It 4 The Kids”:

The track exudes a certain fresh quality that is unseen in most remixes. Appealing to all cravings, Slander’s remix opens with a calming piano introduction but transforms into an aggressive melding of the vocal stems of “Kill It 4 The Kids” and a heavy electro-influenced/dubstep-inspired bass drop. Accompanied by a haunting bridge between drops, chilled-out, but eerily vicious at the same time, Slander has created what they call “a dynamic piece with a subtle intro building up into the heavier side of our style.”

Slander will be taking over EDC Las Vegas this year for EDC20, as well as many other tour dates which can be seen below:
