Galantis Hint at Sophomore Album Release

You probably know them from their legendary track “Runaway (U & I),” or signature sea fox logo. Sounding like the place where EDM and pop meet, Galantis features Christian Karlsson of Miike Snow and Linus Eklöw of Style of Eye.  Karlsson (the man behind hits like Britney Spears’ “Toxic”) met Eklöw (the man behind hits like Icona Pop’s “I Love It”) at the Robotberget studio in Stockholm. Their mutual admiration society turned into a project once they began discussing a more poignant style of EDM that retained pop’s passion.

The two began working together and released the single “Smile” on Atlantic Records in late 2013. The hit single “Runaway (U & I)” followed in 2014, while their debut album effort, Pharmacy, landed a year later featuring two new singles, “Gold Dust” and “Peanut Butter Jelly.”

Galantis is no where near slowing down as they reveal hints for an upcoming album this year. They shared with Irish media organization RTÉ and revealed that “We are going to tour a lot in 2016 and we are constantly working on new music. There’s going to be a lot of new music coming out next year. I’m hoping for another album to see the light of day. We are going to try and reach all of the corners of the world next year.” The also told YourEDM that “When you’re recording a new album you want to restart, to the point where no-one knows what to expect from you…we still want to feel like we’re bringing something fresh.”

Stay tuned for more info on the album and catch Galantis at Global Dance Festival along with Bassnectar, Louis Futon, Louis The Child, JackLNDN and many more on November 19th here in AZ at Rawhide Western Town.
