That same night up in the valley we’re having KimKat take over Salt in Glendale! Finally on Sunday we’re gonna have Treasure Fingers to close up the weekend at Talking Stick Resort.
7/22 – Crywolf @ Shady Park
Crywolf, otherwise known as Justin Taylor Phillips, is currently killing the game with his music. He’s been remixing and covering some awesome songs by people like Flume and has gained support from an immensely wide variety of artists such as Ellie Goulding, Skrillex, Adventure Club, Dada Life, Arty, The Crystal Method and more. His first three EPs all charted in the top 3 on itunes and secured spots on the Billboard charts for over two weeks. Best part about him though is that all his track are so uniquely sounding from any other. At points it sounds very indie and very laidback, but at other times his sound is much more aggressive and hostile. He does his own vocals as well and I love when artists will sing on their track s because it really just goes to show how musical they are as artists. His most recent effort, Cataclasm, received high praise amongst giant media outlets like Fuse and Redbull, while charting on iTunes, Beatport, Xbox Music, and Spotify and you can check it out below if you want!
If you haven’t ever seen Adventure Club perform before than you need to drop what you are doing and go see them because they are some of the most talented people in the industry who have been around for so long. Adventure club is made up of two guys, Christian Srigley & Leighton James, who reign from up north in Canada. The duo formed while attending high school in Montreal as a hardcore pop-punk band, but later decided to move onto the more electronic sound of dance music after simply getting bored with the pop-punk sound. Ever since then they’ve been dropping jaws and giving goosebumps as long as anyone can remember. Lately they have a new album that we actually got to do an interview for and you can read right here! They give a lot of insight on the succes of future bass as a genre and what it is about to grow into, which is pretty dope.
7/23 – Kim Kat @ Salt
Dj duo Kimkat consists of two gorgeous and very talented females, Kim Lee and Katrina Nova. They met in 2007 and have been friends ever since. At that time both were pursuing modeling careers and had much in common. The Duo was approached to appear on a DJ show, excited by the djing experience, both decided to start their careers as djs and attended Scratch Academy in LA. Apl de Ap from The Black Eyed Peas realized the girls’ potential and offered to manage them and they are now currently touring in Asia, Europe, South and North America.
Treasure Fingers, aka Ashley Jones, got his start as part of the highly praised drum & bass group, Evol Intent. But surprisingly enough doesn’t mess around with higher BPMs anymore as much because he now brings together a fusion of disco and tech house. “Cross The Dancefloor”, Treasure Fingers debut release, gained rapid popularity with support from DJs such as Erick Morillo, Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Sinden and Kissy Sell Out. His latest single is “Raindance” and is one of five tracks on the CLUB SWEAT WORKOUT SERIES, VOL: 1, which you can hear right here.
As per usual, ticket links should be in the title of each shows name so go ahead and click there and you should be good to go! Other than that have a fun and safe weekend everybody and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
