So let’s get ready for this huge weekend and this RB Weekend Preview!

7/12 – Aeroplane & Alex Metric – Metroplane @ Shady Park

It’s always exciting for fans to see two of their favorite artists join forces and develop a new project. This is just what the brainchild of OWSLA house maverick, Alex Metric, and Belgian nu-disco savant, Aeroplane, have done. After revealing the leading ‘Mr. E’ from their upcoming EP, Metroplane have now delivered ‘Over Me’ as the second enticing preview to what the couplet have in store. Immediately, ‘Over Me’ lends heavily to Aeroplane’s previous catalogue with poppy disco-infused vibes, but still reminds listeners that this is no longer an individual project, but instead a Metroplane output with edgier moments that properly remind of Alex Metric’s influence as well.

7/12 – Crankdat @ Gypsy Bar

Crankdat’s newest hit is his bass-heavy remix of the infamous Black Eyed Peas that I’m sure many of us known from our childhood. “Rock That Body” just got a dope rendition and became about ten times filthier when Crankdat put his hands on it. Crankdat did a great job of keeping the track’s original vibe intact. The vocals are clear and still make you want to sing along (just like the good ol’ days, right?). His upbeat and bass-heavy twist is what makes this track so incredible. Who knew dubstep and the Black Eyed Peas went so well together?

7/13 – Helena Legend and Niko the Kid @ Talking Stick Resort

Helena Legend has it all: energetic DJ sets, onpoint production, and a powerhouse of presence. Armed with such a deadly combination, the UKborn, Australianbred and Los Angelesbased Helena Legend has taken the scene head on into unparalleled heights. The newest track from Helena Legend, out on Ultra, October 9th, features the superstar vocalist Taylr Renee with Dancing Astronaut proudly showcasing the worldwide premiere. The release of ‘Wake Up’ coincided with the evolution of Helena’s brand into ‘Helena Legend’. Having already made a lasting mark for years to come, as well as setting the standard high for the future, Helena Legend is on the path to becoming one of the world’s biggest talents.

Niko The Kid makes some of the funkiest beats around that you will hear. With his newest track he remixed CID’s “Together” to get people waving their hands in the air and dancing the night away. He also has a spew of original tracks which include releases on the oh so popular Spinnin’ Records. Check him out for yourself though and don’t forget to come out to the pool to catch this very grown man’s sound.

7/13 – BT @ Monarch

Given his enviable resume and illustrious fifteen+ year career, it is difficult to imagine that BT may only now be beginning to create the best work of his career. An internationally-renowned recording artist himself, he is trusted by superstars such as Sting, Britney Spears, Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Madonna, Seal and Peter Gabriel to produce modernist and memorable hits, with a bleeding-edge electronic flair. With his latest two-hour, double-disk opus, These Hopeful Machines, BT definitively weaves both the technical prowess and compositional mastery that reminds us all why he’s the composer that all other composers and producers study. On his last full-length LP, This Binary Universe, he created an entirely new genre of evocative electro-acoustic music. As Keyboard Magazine wrote in their review of the album, “In a hundred years, it could well be studied as the first major work of the new millennium. It’s that good.”

7/14 – Flux Pavilion & Jayceeoh @ Talking Stick Resort & Rialto Theatre

What’s big with Flux and Jayceeoh you ask? Well if you haven’t heard, the much anticipated Flux Pavilion and NGHTMRE collab finally is released and people are absolutely going crazy for it. I mean why shouldn’t they? Given the insane amount of stardom and youthful energy NGHTMRE has, combined with the owner of Circus Records’, Flux Pavilion, and his wisdom, it makes for probably the best track of the year so far. It’f filthy, kids. Give a listen in the player below!

Jayceeoh recently also teamed up with Redman to form the duo 1000volts with their single, “I’m Gone” feat. Trae Tha Truth, which was premiered by Billboard and supported by Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, Revolt TV, HipHopDX, HotNewHipHop, 2DopeBoyz and many more. 1000volts’ mission is to bridge the gap between hip-hop and electronic music, and in case there were any doubters that the Brick City lyricist missed a step, they will be once again proven wrong. In “Lights Out”, Redman opens the record by viciously throwing down bar after bar, accompanied by an anthemic melodic trap production by rising bass producer, Jayceeoh.

As per usual, ticket links should be in the title of each shows name so go ahead and click there and you should be good to go! Other than that have a fun and safe weekend everybody and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
