Zhu Releases Debut Album “Generationwhy”

Steven Zhu, better known by the stage name Zhu, has finally released his much anticipated debut album, Generationwhy. Zhu came onto the scene in early 2014 when he released his first track “Moves Like Ms. Jackson” anonymously, letting his music speak for itself. The mysterious house producer continued to keep us interested with his first EP, The Nightday, which included tracks like “Cocaine Model” and the popular grammy-nominated track, “Faded”. It’s been two years since then and fans have been eagerly awaiting new music. Zhu’s been giving his fans a sneak peak of what he’s been working on, releasing the single “In The Morning” in February and premiering the title track “Generationwhy” at Coachella in April.

Zhu teamed up with Mind of  a Genius and Columbia Records to produce Generationwhy, a 14-track album you can get lost in. He comes out strong and makes sure to hit all angles with this debut album. He brings that deep house sound but takes it to another level using various instruments and bringing his fans some funk.  Tracks like “Secret Weapon” and “Electrify Me” are sure to get your feet moving, while “Hometown Girl” is more mellow and lyric focused. There’s even a bonus track with Skrillex, “Working For It”, which provides some bass. Zhu has really developed his own unique sound and showcases it with this album. No matter what you’re into there’s something on Generationwhy for you!
