Relentless Beats

RB Deep in the Mix: Mat.Joe in The Lab

We’re gearing up for a busy weekend, folks! This Saturday the Rawhide Western Town gets invaded with heavy bass and funky house. Regardless of what stage you’re at–Bandit Canyon, Tombstone, or The Hideout–it’ll be lit!

This week’s RB Deep in the Mix comes right off the Global lineup. Best friend duo, Mat.Joe, have been making music since 2008. Their unique musical style fuses rhythmic soul, hip hop, and house elements. They took over the acclaimed Mixmag Lab in NYC last week to deliver some of their best “crispy urban house” beats.

This mix, full of kicking basslines and synthy, deep beats, sits at just over an hour and a half. They open with “Dance With Me” by The Deepshakerz that effortlessly blends into a track by Sidney Charles, “Phoenix”. About two-thirds of the way in some major disco vibes take over. The mix also features some hot tunes from Jesse Perez, Prok & Fitch, and Green Velvet that kept the crowd dancing from start to finish. They closed it out with their original track “Make A Living”. This is a perfect pregame mix to get you ready for this weekend’s festivities.

You don’t want to miss Mat.Joe on the RB Deep stage this weekend at Global Dance Festival. They’ve said inspiration is found everywhere between subway rides, late night showers and favorite bars– so you’ll never know exactly what you’re going to get with these two. They keep in interesting! Get your last minute tickets here.
