After one of a kind festivals like EDC, Beyond Wonderland, Electric Forest, and more, Insomniac revealed Dreamstate, a full trance festival in early 2015. Insomniac invited all dreamers to “Envision a world of ethereal beats that abduct you from the everyday and take you to a higher state.” And stated: “Insomniac’s brand-new all-trance brand brings that vision to life. The genre has the power to connect, the power to sooth and the power to heal. Now, it’s time to experience that power together.” Theres many reasons why you should experience Dreamstate, but I’m going to go over the top five.
First and foremost, a big reason why you should attend dreamstate, especially if you’re a trance fan, is because it is the only massive festival out there that only focuses on trance music. There’s huge events out there specialized to a certain genre like bass music, house music, hardstyle etc, but Dreamstate is the first ever all trance everything event.

Secondly, if you’ve attended any of Insomniac’s other festivals, a reason you should give Dreamstate a try is because of how different it is than the rest. Beyond Wonderland and Nocturnal wonderland can be compared by their names and wonderland natures and Electric Forest is definitely one of a kind, but Dreamstate has so much to offer that you can’t see anywhere else.
Dreamstate’s production is the third reason why you need to experience the event. Fitting to it’s name, Dreamstate’s environment is heavenly, and like a dream. Just as the music does, the events production will definitely put you in a trance. I’v never attended Dreamstate personally, but I’v heard its stage production is out of this world.
As Paul Van Dyk has partnered with Insomniac for the upcoming dreamstate tour, all of his new content is another reason to attend. This will be his first major tour since his stage accident last year, and he’s got tons of new stuff to celebrate. Over the past few months, Van Dyk has released a lovely mix for Night Owl Radio, a collab with Ronald Van Gelderen and his new single, ‘Touched By Heaven.’
Last but certainly not least, a huge reason to experience Dreamstate is its insane slew of special guests. This year in San Francisco, some of the names that will be providing the feels are Astrix, Ben Nicky, Binary Finary, Bryan Kearney, Gareth Emery, and Markus Schulz Presenting Dakota to name a few.
