Meet Your Wet Electric 2017 Lineup

Once again we’re taking over Big Surf Waterpark for Wet Electric on April 29. Surely enough, this year’s lineup is bigger and better than ever. Diplo will be headlining the festivities with Borgore, Anna Lunoe, and Yookie to start things off. Zip lines, water slides, and a wave pool will provide you with something to do as the two stages will provide the tunes. Aside from the main stage there will also be a RB Deep Takeover Stage setup that includes AC Slater, Justin Jay, Kill Frenzy, and Jimmy Edgar.

Diplo is a world recognized DJ, producer, director, writer and more. He’s the co-creator and lead member of Major Lazer. He’s the owner of the record label and event company Mad Decent and he’s worked on countless tracks and albums with artists such as Beyoncé, Die Antwoord, Usher, Madonna and the list goes on. His tracks have acquired hundreds of millions of plays making him one of the most streamed artist in the industry. He won two Grammy’s last year with “Where Are Ü Now?” and Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü. Diplo is bringing all his talent and party starting abilities to Wet Electric.

Ladies and gentlemen daddy is home. Borgore, one of the founding fathers of modern bass music, will be coming to Tempe to provide Wet Electric with some absolute bangers. His latest release, “Harder,” gives listeners a familiar feeling with its heavy sound and quirky vocals. Without a doubt, Borgore gets the ladies feeling lascivious. He’ll have the entire water park stirring up the wave pool with his intense order of music.

In 2008, Audien was approaching adulthood. His friends were preparing to head to college or claim their spot in the workforce, but Audien was busy sending his music to everyone and anyone willing to take a listen. Feedback came about as Flashover Recordings reached out after taking a listen, impressed by his sound. Soon enough, his single “Rise and Shine” was released on the label and his career took off. Labels continued to contact him, willing to represent his melodic, cutting-edge sound. Through his live sets this sound is exemplified well, so catch his performance on the main stage at this year’s Wet Electric.

Killing it in the female EDM industry is Anna Lunoe. She’s a DJ, singer, songwriter, singer and producer from Australia and she also became the first female solo artist to ever take the main stage at EDC. She’s moved to the states in 2012 and has gone nowhere but up since. Her first EP featured Flume and her track “Real Talk” was #1 on the Beatport charts for months. Skrillex picked up her song “Bass Drum Dealer” in 2014 and her second EP, All Out, debuted at #4 on the iTunes Charts.

As the bass genre has exploded and become what some might say is over saturated, YOOKiE stands out amongst the rest. Based in New York, the duo is made up of brothers Anthony and Chris Alfaro who made the right choice pursuing music together. Having already been released on Dim Mak, Big Beat, Buygore, with forthcoming releases on Mad Decent, Good Enuff, and Never Say Die Records, YOOKiE’s music highlights the direction in which electronic music is headed.

We’ll be getting our night bass fix with AC Slater as he combines house and bass elements to create the delicious composition he has created for us. Certainly, AC Slater’s talent has been confirmed with multiple world tours and features within sets by some of today’s hottest electronic producers. With an imagination that has created over 100 remixes who knows what he’ll drop for us at Wet Electric. All we can expect is for it to have an AC-authentic layout with very stylish characteristics.

Jimmy Edgar is a man of many talents including graphic art, photography, fashion design, and his most successful, music. Based in Detroit, Edgar combines electro-funk and R&B-influences with experimental electronica. He manifested a love for music at an early age, learning to play saxophone and drums, gigging in local bands, and experimenting with making electronic music. From star-child to edm success, Jimmy Edgar is one of a kind.

To bring on some sunshine we have Justin Jay on the RB Deep Takeover Stage. As a member of Dirtybird, he’s proven himself worthy of being a part of the family at such a young age. Being only 22 years old with the amount of success he has reached is truly unbelievable. Some reputable artists have worked with him, even exclusively on his full-length album, “Justin Jay & Friends,” a compilation full of twists and turns. So whether you’re already a fan or not, catch his set for some upbeat, house, techno bangers.

Belgium born and Berlin raised, Seba, also known by stage name Kill Frenzy is known for conjuring up deep, menacing and dark dance floor vibrations that get people well and truly under his spell. Growing listening to Dave Clarke, Green Velvet, Jeff Mills and DJ Funk to name a few, he has picked up a penchant for house and techno with a sleazy attitude. Kill Frenzy signed with Dirtybird in 2012, and took off as an artist. After teaming with Dirtybird, KF put out his biggest track yet, ‘Make That Booty Clap’. It was picked up and spun by global stars like Skrillex, Soul Clap and Jamie Jones and became a massive anthem on the festival circuit.
