This week’s rendition of Spin It Back Saturday takes us back five years to 2012. Normally I would never condone violence, but “Happy Violence” is a little different. The only fights are pillow fights, and the arguments are over who’s raging harder. Dada Life’s “Happy Violence”, with its high energy flow, lets us work out all of our feelings to the music.
Dada Life is a DJ duo from Stockholm. They’ve released two albums and a large collection of singles since their musical debut in 2006. They’ve become known for their upbeat tunes and fun lyrics that almost create a genre of their own. The duo frequently headlines major festivals like EDC Las Vegas and Ultra, but they also travel the world throwing crazy, happy violent parties for their fans. In fact, some of their parties are record-breaking! In 2013, Dada Life broke the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest pillow fight at a Dada Land Compound event in Chicago that had almost 4,000 participants. In 2015 they broke another world record for the most people dressed as a fruit in one place.
The video is made up of show footage mostly and is sure to get you pumped to ‘arrive pretty and leave ugly’ as the song goes. There are not rules but the rules of Dada when they invade Talking Stick Resort for a pool party like no other on May 6th. Get tickets here.
