The Rasmus – ‘Paradise’ (Joakim Molitor Remix)

North America’s largest electronic dance music festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, puts on a one-of-a-kind experience every year. The past 5 years I have attended Insomniac’s famed massive in Las Vegas, and not once have they dropped the ball. Last year’s celebration of 20 glorious years of EDC went off and was truly a magical celebration to be apart of. This year Insomniac Events has a tall task of outdoing themselves from the year before, but Pasquale Rotella’s strong focus on putting what’s best for Headliners (attendees) at the center of every decision made in regards to producing Electric Daisy Carnival will be what makes EDC hold such a place in our hearts. This is what separates Electric Daisy Carnival from the rest; this is why so many Headliners refer to this summer affair as HOME.
This year Pasquale Rotella upheld his tradition of creatively dropping the lineup for EDC Vegas in a way where Headliners must decode the given hints to reveal who is playing. He says when he was younger, this was one of his favorite parts was the excitement of decoding where the rave was, who’d be playing, etc. To keep excitement high and as a tribute to old rave culture, year after year Pasquale has continued this tradition, giving us lineup hints in different ways. Last year EDC20’s lineup dropped via NightOwl Radio, and this year Rotella has chosen to follow suite to announce the EDC Vegas 2017 lineup. Headliners had to listen to the special NightOwl Radio episode to decode which artists were playing what stage at this upcoming festival.
At a time where there is so much hate in the world, Pasquale Rotella has chosen to admirably use his platform to send a message of peace. This year’s Electric Daisy Carnival trailer has taken on this new message of:
“All Are Welcome Here.”
The video starts off setting the tone with snapshots of chaos going on worldwide. It begins with, “Global warming is accelerating,” and then “The situation here is just absolute pandemonium.” The video then snaps to an electrified eye and the vibe changes to one of peace overcoming the video, showing snapshots of people around the world in tranquility.
“In this world of noise and disarray, time marches on never-ending. The rituals we have give purpose and meaning to the story of ourselves; the unique fabric we call LIFE.
As people we strive to connect with one another; to find our common ground.
The time has come for us to gather once again in this place where All Are Welcome. This is our Sanctuary. This is our Home.
This is Electric Daisy Carnival“
The video then breaks into actual festival footage, Headliners enjoying some of the many FREE rides scattered throughout the festival grounds. EDC is a real carnival with the food and rides of one, in addition to the 8 massive stages putting on one helluva show!
The video then segways into my favorite segment, highlighting the BassPOD, flipping to showcase Headliners taking part in what I like to call “front-railing-it.” Epicly, the video then switches to real footage of the stage actually catching on FIRE from being ‘too lit’ as a result of thousands on thousands of WATTS of bass blaring from the pyrotechnic speakers simultaneously shooting fire during none other than EXCISION. Don’t worry, this year they’ve fire-proofed the BassPOD. After kicking off the BassPOD, rebooting it soon after the stage was cleared for Headliners to safely continue dancing and headbanging their hearts out. The trailer highlights each of the remaining 8 massive stages of Electric Daisy Carnival before ending the video with a powerful message:
“We come together in this place of beauty. These moments live on inside us, and help us realize we are not alone. We are all connected. . . . ***FIREWORKS***
ALL ARE WELCOME HERE”
“All Are Welcome Here” is the new message Insomniac has chosen to share with the world through their EDC Las Vegas 2017 Official Trailer.

“Walt Disney Presents Princess Castle on Crystal Meth” stage – Diplo quote about mainstage EDC Vegas from less than a year ago in 2016 . . . now he’ll be playing a must-see set on this very same stage B2B with Alison Wonderland and JAUZ. You’re going to want to arrive early to this set; I guarantee you they’ll have the entire mainstage packed for this once in a lifetime B2B2B.
Other special b2b sets at EDC vegas 2017 include:
Saturday night will also feature a special collaborative performance by Pure NRG, a brand new live-on-stage concept by Giuseppe Ottaviani & Solarstone.
LIVE SETS AT EDC VEGAS 2017 include:
Artists making their EDC Vegas DEBUT: an exciting time for them and us both!
You’ll also see on the lineup that Friday features Nicole Moudaber presents MoodZone, Saturday with Jamie Jones presents Paradise, and lastly Sunday has Adam Beyer presents Drumcode on this year’s lineup. This will all be hosted at the NeonGARDEN for the first time at EDC Vegas 2017. The house music haven will boast authentic warehouse vibes all weekend long as Pasquale detailed in this special episode of the NightOwl podcast. House-heads will relish in only the best of techno, tech and deep house. The NeonGARDEN will not boast bells and whistles, but humbly shine in its own right with raw rhythms and an underground atmosphere.
As a brand new edition to the stage repertoire at EDC Vegas, QuantumVALLEY will now be hosted by Insomniac’s celebrated trance label Dreamstate, which last year had held its own hosting all of day 3 EDC20 at the CircuitGROUNDS stage. This year, the CircuitGROUNDS will host a diverse lineup of artists from all different types of genres. Each style will be represented by the genre’s best, heavy-hitting artists out there, making up an EDM all-star team.
UpsidedownHOUSE will be up and running all 3 days of EDC this year, as a host to the festival’s yearly Discovery Project, giving young up-and-coming artists a platform through competing to play amongst the industry’s best at EDC Vegas.
Extending past the 8 stages at Electric Daisy Carnival, even still there will be more musical acts with roaming decorated art cars making waves through the EDC festival grounds each with their own lineup as well.
It’s safe to say there will be no shortage of talent at EDC this year, as usual. Insomniac always hits Vegas hard in all the right places. This year for the 21st time they’re expected to do it once again.
