Disneyland Paris Unveils Their Magical New Festival: Electoland

The happiest place on earth just got a whole lot more happi(plur). Recently Disneyland Paris had their inaugural festival, Elecrtoland, to ring in the park’s 25th anniversary. The festival brought in global talent with headliners such as Nervo, Michael Calfan, Richard Orlinski, and Steve Aoki.. still waiting on confirmation if he threw churros in the crowd instead of cake–I hope so.

Blending the elements of fantasy, music, and the escapement from reality, the makers of  Electroland seem to have taken a few notes out of Pasquale Rotella’s play book. The EDC inspired event started out humble and small with only one stage and one night, but as history has revealed time and time again, this likely won’t be the case for festivals to come. This first EDC in 1997 had only one stage, a few DJs, and a projection screen for visuals. Now Electric Daisy Carnival is one of the largest EDM festivals in the world. Like most great things, Electoland was born in Europe and as it grows it will hopefully migrate west. I for one am dying to hear some bass while on the Tower of Tower, now that is how you experience a “drop”.
