Relentless Beat of the Week: Walker & Royce – ‘Take Me To Your Leader’

Walker & Royce have been producing emotive, subdued and groove-heavy deep house since 2011, and from the start they’ve been touted as future stars. Their 2012 EP, You’re Not Welcome, launched them into the dance music spotlight. Since they’ve been turning out hits left and right on numerous labels including OFF Recordings, Relief Records and most recently they’ve joined the ranks on Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird Records. The boys are currently working on their debut album, Self Help, which is due to be released this fall.

This week’s Relentless Beat of the Week is a sneak peek from their upcoming album, titled “Take Me To Your Leader.”

“Take Me To Your Leader” is an infectious new track that features the charismatic vocals Dances With White Girls. You may have heard it in Justin Martin’s recent Shady Park set or any festival you’ve attended so far this summer. It’s blowing among fans and artists alike. The song tells the tale of a stimulating trip from out of this world, constructed around an impeccable Walker & Royce production. From the catchy synth chords to the playful percussion to the epic extraterrestrial trip so expertly painted by the lyrics, it’s destined to reach your ears all summer long. We can’t stop listening to it, and we guarantee you won’t be able to, either.

Walker & Royce’s album Self Help releases on October 20th. Shortly after they’ll be bringing all those new jams to Arizona’s inaugural Goldrush festival. Get more info and grab tickets here–they’re going fast!
