VASSY Teams Up with Sultan + Shepard for ‘Somebody New’

Hot and ready from the presses of Armada Music, a quickly rising collaborator who found fame with Afrojack’s “LOST” returned with a lead single of her own. Under the title of “Somebody New,” Australian singer-songwriter VASSY teamed up with Sultan + Shepard to flex her wide-ranging musical chops.

Canadian Grammy award-winning duo, Sultan + Shepard helped VASSY realize her full potential on this track. What could be considered a progressive house romper quickly evolves into a radio-ready single Max Martin would be jealous of, thanks to the careful attention paid to the production of VASSY’s vocals and synth inclusion. As a singer-songwriter and vocalist, it can definitely be a significant rise-to-the-challenge when forming your career in the electronic music industry; luckily, with the help of Sultan + Shepard, VASSY’s calming milky vocals are given the progressive house pop treatment in this new lead single.

I’m so excited about this new release with Armada Music and Sultan + Shepard; “Somebody New” has a different vibe to all of my other songs. I always have fun in the studio with these two talented guys and, having had success alongside David Guetta with our multi-platinum record “Bad”, I wanted to create a unique sound and something intimate for the fans, revealing a more vulnerable side.

With the creative progression of her sound, VASSY is using this single to show her fans and other producers her dedication to making her art unique. As a lead single, “Somebody New” combines emotional ties with soft electronic influences, making it a worthy contender for the radio and club. This “intimate side” of VASSY will no-doubt garner fans looking for more personal tracks than your normal party banger. Download the new single here.
