3 Reasons You Need to be at HARD Summer This Year

The annual HARD Summer festival in southern California is back on August 4th and 5th at the Speedway in Fontana. Every year, the announcement comes via a quirky video, and this year was no different. Check out the video below, followed by three reasons why you won’t want to miss this year’s event.

1. Insomniac Events has taken over, which means a complete redesign.

The festival in previous years was notoriously and dangerously hot, which anyone who attended can attest to. After several years under Destructo’s management, HARD Summer is now an Insomniac Event, which means things will be changing, but for the better. After listening to feedback from previous years, Insomniac has announced several big changes they plan to implement at this year’s event:

  • Location: This year, the event will be returning to The Speedway at Fontana (last year’s event was held at the San Manuel Amphitheater, a.k.a. Glen Helen). This means completely new stages and a new event layout made up of almost entirely grass to keep things cool.
  • More Safety MeasuresInsomniac has announced improved logistics and more health and safety services and amenities, including the Insomniac Ground Control team, who will be patrolling the grounds to ensure everyone’s experience is safe, smooth, and fun. They’ve also added more free filtered water stations, water features, and shades areas, including a splash pool in the VIP area.
  • Wait Times: Insomniac plans to move venue entrances closer to the festivals as well as add more entry lanes to allow for quicker access inside from parking lots, ride-share, and shuttles.

2. The lineup is killer.

If nothing else, the 2018 HARD Summer lineup should be enough to get you there. Featuring top acts like Marshmello, Louis the Child, Flosstradamus, Travis Scott, San Holo, and many many more as well as elusive artists like Virtual Self,  who has been creating quite a stir lately with his incredible live sets. Not to mention epic, must-see b2b sets, like Yellow Mustard (Mustard + Yellow Claw) and Kill the Snails (Kill the Noise and Snails). This lineup is fire, and many of these sets you won’t be able to catch anywhere else.

3. Because HARD Summer is unlike any other event.

Everyone who has attended a previous HARD Summer knows this festival comes with a different vibe than other festivals. Maybe it’s from enduring the heat together year after year, but HARD festival goers always seem to share a special bond.

If these three reasons got you thinking, like they should, head on over to the HARD Summer website to purchase tickets now, starting at $189 for a two-day GA pass. See you there!
