Spin it Back Saturday: Skrillex – ‘Bangarang’

Arguably one of the most iconic songs from one of the most iconic producers, Skrillex‘s 2011 hit “Bangarang” is the definition of legendary. The reigning king of dubstep Sonny Moore, made a name for himself in dance music by bringing a level badness and hardness to the bass scene that forever changed the landscape of the genre. His similar tracks like “Cinema,” “Recess,” and “Scary Monsters and Nice Spirits” have all had an immense impact on the dance music scene we know today, but “Bangarang” seems to be the track the consistently stands out. You can’t find many artists nowadays who don’t attribute a little something to Skrillex and this song for the overarching inspiration to produce electronic music. Press play on today’s Spin it Back Saturday and get ready for his Decadence debut.

This is a song that no matter how old it is, it will make you feel invincible. Over the past seven years we’ve seen this track in commercials and trailers for the film The Watch, the video game Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and in promos for the 2013 X Games. The song also appears in the video game Guitar Hero Live and the theme music of the mobile game Gangstar Vegas. Most recently and most awesomely, it is the climax-track used in the 2018 superhero film Deadpool 2. 10, 20, or even 50 years from now “Bangarang” will uphold the same reputation.

Today we are celebrating the announcement of the end of Skrillex’s hiatus and his return to the desert for Decadence Arizona 2018.  Grab your tickets here!
