Do Not Duplicate Recordings Presents ‘Unlocked Vol. 1’

Arizona is coming in hot, and we aren’t talking about the summertime heat. BIJOU, one of the lead contributors of the G-House movement (and not to mention an Arizona native) has begun making his mark on the house scene in a huge way. Having recently created his Do Not Duplicate Recordings label, BIJOU made it a point to reveal a good chunk of talent on the debut album compilation, Unlocked Vol. 1. The collection includes a jam from the boss himself, as well as local heroes Blossom and Gerry Gonza, who have been gaining tons of attention after every show here in the Valley and beyond. The two drop a track apiece, showing off their immense talent that we have been lucky to observe within our growing local scene over the years. ATLAST, an LA-based producer who is known for his remixes, steps in for a hip-hop lead banger that almost forces you to dance. The last two tracks in the collection are from Detroit’s MASTERIA and Vancouver’s Nostalgix. MASTERIA brings a darker feel to the work, while Nostalgix ends the compilation with a technical, mind-bending tune that puts an exclamation point on an incredibly unique and fun body of work. You can listen to Unlocked Vol. 1 below, but make yourself some room to groove.

While G House is gaining steam throughout the country, it’s clear that BIJOU is taking the subgenre to a completely new level. Having already honed in on his own sound, the next move would be to show just how much talent is out there, whether it be from our backyard in Arizona, or somewhere else on the continent. With his Do Not Duplicate Recordings family, BIJOU is out to solidify G-House and the artists who produce it within the EDM world. Unlocked Vol. 1 is just the album to make that big push with, as it is completely oozing with talent and unique artistry, which are two components that the music scene could never have enough of.
