VNSSA and Walker & Royce Tell Us the Good ‘Word’

There’s house music, then there’s Walker & Royce. The big apple-based duo has been redefining the house genre since their debut in 2011. Their signature style utilizes over the top wooshes, seismic synths, and a bassline like a vacuum that sucks listeners in. Their newest track “Word” with VNSSA just debuted on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show and it’s an out-of-this-word experience. I would consider “Word” to be the perfect buildup track in a set, it sets the stage and gradually gets louder and prouder. It’s synth-heavy melody has almost a trap feel to it, but as the song progresses, it dives into a complicated house melody.

VNSSA is a newcomer to the scene, making her debut in early 2018 on House of Hustle Records. Since her debut, she released tracks with the labels Late Night Munchies and Psycho Disco. She’s also opened for huge names in the house industry like Chris Lake, SNBRN, and Destructo. Walker & Royce have become a duo that needs no introduction. After really catching the mainstream spotlight in 2017 with the release of their highly praised Self Help album on Dirtybird Records, Walker & Royce have quickly become a must-see performance throughout the country.

VNSSA is bringing the heat to the 10 Year Anniversary of Wet Electric at Big Surf Waterpark on April 27th.  Grab tickets here.
