In 2018, Troyboi gave us one of the most diverse and creative hybrid trap EPs we had heard in a while, V!BEZ. Later that year, he released V!BEZ Vol. 2 and since then we’ve been patiently waiting for the third installment. Late last month Troyboi finally delivered the heat. Every song on V!BEZ Vol 3. shows us a different side to the multi-genre charting producer and with a collaboration from both yesaquarius and Skrillex, you’re gonna want to listen to the EP in its entirety.
V!BEZ Vol. 3 starts off with “Papi Chulo” and “Baile”, two trap anthems that are sure to get the whole crowd on their feet. Both songs are highly energetic and show off Troyboi’s mastery at creating some pretty unique, dynamic sounds. If you’ve been looking for a chill trap song that will get you in your feels, you’ll want to listen to “HIGH” featuring yesaquarius. The song holds nothing back, with ethereal vocals, trap percussion, and a gritty breakdown, “HIGH” is truly original and exactly why we love Troyboi.
“Warlordz” featuring Skrillex was the collaboration we were all waiting for and there’s a good reason for it. Part dubstep, part trap, “Warlordz” took the internet by storm when it was released as a single and has one of the most iconic drops of the summer. Skrillex’s notorious dubstep growls combined with Troyboi’s famous trap bases fit perfectly well and the entire song is a masterpiece. Groovy isn’t usually the word you’d use to describe trap, but that’s exactly how you’d describe the final song on V!BEZ Vol. 3, “Do You?”. “Do You?” is the most unique song on the EP and its funky melody accompanied by heavy bass and catchy vocals is sure to turn heads.
V!BEZ Vol.3 is everything we love about Troyboi and if you enjoyed this banger of an EP, you’ll want to check him out at Goldrush Festival on September 27th and 28th at Rawhide Western Town in Chandler, Arizona (tickets available here).
