Rusko Releases Dynamic ‘Genghis Danger’ EP

Chris Mercer, better known as Rusko, has been in the dubstep game for quite some time. His underground UK sound is raw, unique, and legendary. We can give a huge shout-out to Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats imprint for giving Rusko’s music a platform in the states years ago and continuing to do so since he has blown up here. If you have heard Rusko’s sound before, there is no denying that he brings so much to the table and he has done it once again with his recent EP, Genghis Danger, which was released via Deadbeats last month. Give the massively impressive 4-track EP a listen below, if you have not already, you will not want to miss out on it.

Genghis Danger shows that Rusko continuously strives to incorporate his twist on electronic music trends into his sound and succeeds with flying colors. Throughout this EP listeners will be treated to heavy UK reggae inspired dubstep, shimmering drum ‘n bass, and wobbly wubs. The first offering, “Go Up,” is a beautiful melodic inspired bass track, which flows effortlessly into the wildly heavy “One Family.” Things speed up a bit with a good old DnB track, “oh my god,” which is bound to get you moovin’. Closing off the Genghis Danger sonic journey is an upbeat tribute to dubstep’s reggae roots entitled “Bumbaclat.” Rusko leaves fans craving more of his incredible ability to blend multiple genres with dubstep. This past year has been huge for him and we cannot wait to hear what is to come next, until then Genghis Danger will be on repeat!
