Texas native Sean McCurtain, better known as KATRIX, is starting to make waves in the dubstep community. KATRIX has been busy producing music as well as opening for some veteran producers such as NGHTMRE, Ookay, 12th Planet, and more. KATRIX just dropped a three track EP Mythos on Recall Records, the first release from this label this year. The EP sounds just as the name suggests, dark and otherworldly.
The first song of this EP, “Legends” begins to narrate the story of mythical metallic synths and grimey bass. The tale continues on with the second track “Anubis” with the same dark narration, but with a more lighthearted intro compared to “Legend.” Don’t let the change of tune fool you, “Anubis” still throws in the heavy-hitting, neck-breaking bass that we heard in the first track. The final song of the EP, “Loki,” the eerie story of this EP carries on. This track begins a lot more playfully than the other two, but pulls you in with the filthy metallic bass drop. This EP amazingly gives you a purely auditory cinematic experience that you need to hear for yourself. You can connect with this rising producer at the links below!
