Maya Jane Coles’ Alias Nocturnal Sunshine Unveils Remix Package for ‘Gravity’

Maya Jane Coles has unveiled the remix package for her latest single ‘Gravity’, released under her Nocturnal Sunshine alias, out 26th June. The three-track release features remixes from some of dance music’s most revered names. First up, Canadian favorite Jacques Greene delivers a shimmering, sparse take on the original that ensures Ry X’s delicate vocals take center stage. Calibre then steps up with a richly melodic D&B edit of ‘Gravity’, before Emanuel Satie’s crafts a moody, atmospheric rework.

It’s been ten years since the British-Japanese producer unleashed the often sampled, modern house classic What They Say’. She has since shifted the focus towards her Nocturnal Sunshine project, collaborating with the likes of Peaches, Miss Kittin and Young M.A. and releasing her Full Circle LP last year.

Acclaimed DJ and producer Jacques Greene has built a reputation around his house tracks that incorporate elements of R&B and UK Garage releasing on esteemed labels such as Lucky Me and Night Slugs. One of the most respected figures from the world of D&B, Belfast-born Calibre helped run the Soul:R imprint alongside ST Files and the late Marcus Intalex. He kicked off the new decade with eight-track LP Shelflife Six.Frankfurt’s Emanuel Satie has found a home for his melodic brand of house and techno on the likes of Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, Defected sub-label DFTD and Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records.Three stellar remixes from three dance music favorites, the ‘Gravity’ remix package doesn’t disappoint.
