ZiA drops haunting new EP “Voices” out now on GRVDNCR

Rising producer ZíA, also known as Lex Katz, has dropped her highly anticipated ‘Voices’ EP. Released on the dubstep record label GRVDNCR, the four-track EP should come with a warning for its heavy and unrelenting sound.

From the moment she came across Excision and Skrillex’s diverse catalogues, she knew she was hooked. The Philadelphia based producer delved deeper and deeper into the bass music community, finding artists such as Skream, Benga, Caspa, Rusko, Joker, Liquid Stranger, Zeds Dead and Ganja White Night. They were constantly in her headphones, and unbeknownst to her, shaping her future sound.

Eerily melodic and gritty to its core, the ‘Voices’ EP will keep listeners on edge with its playful melody and hard-hitting bass. Consisting of four tracks; Opener ‘Voices’, ‘Sadistic’, ‘Illya the Spy’ and ‘ it’s a thrilling barrage of dubstep production.

Discussing the new release, ZíA says, ‘‘This past year has had so many ups and downs and I’ve felt so many different emotions while finishing up these four special tracks. ‘Illya the Spy’ and ‘Sadistic’ are almost entirely inspired by some of my favorite films (cinema is my biggest passion besides music). Creating “’Voices’ and ‘Extricate’ was a very therapeutic way of expressing the hardest things I’ve to deal with in my life: anxiety and healing from the most toxic relationship from my past. I hope listeners feel empowered by these tracks.”

ZiA is an artist to watch. If you need any evidence, just plug in and turn ‘Voices’ EP up to full volume.
