YetepWith distinct bassline distortions, heavy kicks and a unique synergy of indie, punk and electro-house, Atlanta based Dylan Eiland is Le Castle Vania. While trying to explain what he sounds like to my friends, the best description of Le Castle’s music that I could give was something along the lines of, “Imagine running through Bowser’s castle in MarioKart N64 with those huge Mario ghosts chasing you and some wicked heavy beats in the background.”
My brilliant description aside, this guy is 100% electro-house beauty. Whether or not it reminds you of castles and ghosts, Le Castle Vania knows how to throw down. With remixes of La Roux’s “In For The Kill”, the Smashing Pumpkin’s “Zero” and Grum’s “Go Back”, Eiland has shown off a unique ability to make bangers out of other artist’s work. In concert he prefers to play as many of his original tracks as possible and he is known for his love for crowd surfing. Below, you’ll find a quick run down of my favorite tracks by the Atlanta based DJ.
The quintessential Le Castle Vania track is without a doubt this tremendous remix of Kaskade’s Turn It Down. I know that it is already like four months old, but I still can listen to this song whenever.
My favorite original track of Le Castle’s is without a doubt the chilling vocals and unbelievable bass drop of “Awake”, an electro-house banger covered by the beautiful vocals of Desire.
Lastly, this remastered and reworked Le Castle track recently released on Beatport named “The Light” doesn’t have a bassline that will make your head explode but the melodic vocals and cleverly timed hooks make this an instant classic.
Enjoy good music. Happy Monday friends.
