YetepAfter their much anticipated released of Random Access Memories last week, Daft Punk continues down their war path against generic music by smashing Spotify‘s record for most album listens in it’s first week of release.
The record was originally held by Mumford & Sons sophomore album Babel, surpassing 8 million views upon it’s first week of release. Spotify has yet to reveal an official numbers outside of the 27 million streams of the first single “Get Lucky“. The single also warranted the most views in a single day since Spotify’s inception back in 2008.
The album is already the fastest seller of the year in the United Kingdom, selling 165,000 copies already. “Get Lucky” recently was knocked off it’s number one throne after four weeks at the top.
The French duo built a lot of hype before their release, get fans hot and bothered by the time of it’s drop date May 21.
