YetepEver since I experienced the Q Dance Stage at EDCLV in 2012, hardstyle has had a special place in my music library. The genre has been embraced by DJs like Krewella who recently collaborated in a new track with Headhunterz. Back in May, Nicky Romero tweeted a photo of himself and Headhunterz in the studio; a track has not been released. The newest DJ to embrace the genre is none other than Borgore featuring Ookay in their remix of Dirtyphonics’ “Hanging On Me”.
Featured on Dirtyphonics’ forthcoming Hanging On Me (Remixes) EP due out October 1 on Dim Mak Records, Borgore and Ookay incorporate the genre’s signature kick drum to the beginning of the track. At the breakdown, the track morphs to dubstep, but quickly drops into trap. Borgore and Ookay definitely experimented with this remix. If you like what you hear, you can pre-order the EP from iTunes. Other remixes of “Hanging On Me” by Kastle, Slogun and iOh are featured on the EP.
