YetepAs the sun went down, the lights became bright at Phoenix Lights Festival on March 22 and with the beams of bass at the RB Deep stage, listeners were abducted into a spaceship of brilliant dance beats and groovy rhythms.
Phoenix Lights inaugural festival took place this past weekend in downtown Phoenix at the Civic Space Center with its out-of-this-world lineup. The entrance of the festival lead the attendees to the first stage, the RB Deep stage, where locals like Dan Lunsford and Michelle Sparks warmed up the decks as our hometown heroes.
SecondCity and Route 94 got the crowd moving and groovin within minutes of coming on and performed what ended up being a three hour back-to-back set that absolutely slayed the stage and all of its fans. In the three hours that SecondCity and Route 94 switched on and off as their roles of the primary selector, the sun came down, the lights came on and the crowd grew. These two powerhouse DJs have shared deck-time before, in places like Vancouver and Chicago. This next week, they’ll be gracing dance music lovers in clubs and parties in Miami with their glorious sounds. They’re set to play at events such as HARD Miami at Grand Central and at Terminal Miami as a part of the legendary Miami Music Week, which kicks off the start of festival season.
Under the warm Phoenix skies, many people of all different ages and groups came together and danced to three hours of unrelenting rhythms, up tempo beats, and house melodies as the RB Deep stage area filled and the crowd overflowed into the grassy area, keeping their bodies moving to the same beat.
There’s no denying that the dance music scene in Phoenix is growing. With a display of such grand international talent at this years Phoenix Lights Festival, all Arizona can do is buckle up and see where Relentless Beats takes us next!
