#14Fest Is Every Broke College Student’s Dream

FRI, MAY 22, 2015

The collegiate dream is to find a high energy music festival for the lowest price possible. Coachella and EDC are worth breaking the bank for, but we’ve found one that won’t leave you eating strictly ramen noodles for two weeks.

#Fest, or “brochella” as Diplo coined it, is a festival worth booking a flight for. Its unique lineup has ranged from our beloved Borgeous to Schoolboy Q to E-V. With a large concentration of hip-hop and EDM artists, the talent at #Fest isn’t the only thing that attracts attendees to Athens, Ohio for this weekend of Woodstock-esque adventures.

The Number Festival allows its guests to BYOB. You are allowed to bring a personal cooler full of alcohol along with the necessities such as ice, cups and beer bongs. With the exception of hard liquor (don’t worry, it can be purchased inside), beverages to make you feel the buzz are completely welcome.

This annual party began in 2004 at the University of Ohio to celebrate the end of the school year. Created by two college juniors, the event was designed to blow off the steam from the semester and ring in the summer. Tickets were sold by fraternities and were only $10.

This year marked the thirteenth successful year of #Fest. Taking place on April 18th, there was a turnout of over 15,000 people, all dancing finals week away. EDM artists Diplo, E-V, DJ Clockwork, DJ Slink and DJ Lamb$ were just a few of the featured artists that rocked the two stages that performed simultaneously.

The #14Fest date and lineup has yet to be announced, but prepare to stock up on beer and book a flight to Ohio for the perfect way to forget the struggles of the semester. Stay on the lookout for the lineup and for presale tickets, as well as tips and FAQs posted on the official website www.thenumberfest.com.

Tickets range from just $10- approximately $85 depending on whether you bring your own booze and are GA or VIP. Seeing Borgeous and Diplo for $10 while drinking your favorite beer with your friends? Don’t have to ask me twice.
