YetepDiplo and his Major Lazer crew have released a new track, teaming up with none other than Davvincii himself, Andy Samberg. The new collaboration, “Bass Drop” features Samberg on vocals and in the background making noises with his mouth as Major Lazer creates their signature reggae-fusion medley with a mean drop to boot. Check out the song and the official video here:
The track was officially released on April 30th with the brand new episode of the cartoon, Major Lazer, on FXX. The series premiered on April 16th and follows the many adventures of Major Lazer attempting to fight evil with Hip Hop and Electronic music in a modern day dystopian Jamaica. The show premiered as part of FXX’s Animation Domination lineup. In addition to Andy Samberg, special guests such as Charlie XCX, Riff Raff, Aziz Ansari, J.K. Simmons, and even Diplo himself, are set to make appearances.
Catch up on Major Lazer now on FXX and prepare yourself for some classic Saturday morning cartoon action… with some added vulgarity. If that’s not enough for you, pre-order Major Lazer’s new album, Peace is the Mission, and look out for new content on their Soundcloud page. Don’t miss Major Lazer when they come through Phoenix as a part of the Mad Decent Block Party on September 18 alongside Thomas Jack, What So Not, and many more!
