Dutch Royalty Drops The Bass

On June 2nd The School of House Amsterdam, the new Dutch education platform for the Dance industry, stopped at Millennium Park in Chicago with DJs Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano. At the end of the event the DJs were joined on stage by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands as well as the Mayor of Chicago for the final song.

Back in the Netherlands the king & queen are considered to be “EDM aficionados” and even celebrated the king’s coronation in 2013 on stage with DJ Armin van Buuren. The royals visited several medical institutes, a high school, and a rehabilitation center to promote research collaboration with the Netherlands.

It was King Willem Alexander’s first official visit to the US since becoming kind in 2013. The trip began Monday in Washington with a meeting with President Barack Obama and a stop at Arlington National Cemetery. The king and queen made several stops in Chicago and Michigan as well.
