EDC Week 2015: Hardwell Announces Surprise EDC Las Vegas Set
It would appear that Hardwell is stepping away from Kinetic Field this weekend and taking on a completely different beast. In addition to his headlining set at EDC, Hardwell made a statement at a show over the weekend that he would be spinning an EDC exclusive secret set. During his show over the weekend, he states: “It’s unannounced, but if you’re at the right time at the right place, I’m gonna play a special hip-hop/moombathon set at EDC Las Vegas”. Whoa, what? Moombathon… Hip-Hop… Hardwell… all in the same sentence?

This new comes fresh off of Hardwell playing a back to back to back set with Diplo and Skrillex after Spring Awakening in Chicago over the weekend. Based on these recent choices, it would seem that Hardwell is attempting to become an even larger player in the scene than he already is. Entering into the world of Jack U and taking on a hip-hop/moombathon set show us that Hardwell is trying to prove that he has a bit of diversity in him and this is very exciting to me. With his recent album, United We Are, we get the Harwell that we have come to know and love over the years, but if this is any indicator of his future in the industry I think he may have just rejuvenated his appeal. #1 DJ three years in a row? I think its absolutely possible.
