HARD Summer is coming! And with the weekend completely sold out and an outrageous lineup to look forward to, all that’s left to do is pack those spoons and start counting down those single digit days (if you haven’t already)! With a lineup so massive filled with acts coming from all different kinds of genres, it’s hard to narrow down the musical details of festival weekend, but here’s a few acts that you won’t want to let slip through your fingers at HARD Summer this weekend!
Not everyone can luck out and have great college roommate experiences like Kyle and Brian, AKA Eyes Everywhere, have had. Starting out as two dudes living in a dorm bonding over jazz and DJing at local house parties, Eyes Everywhere now takes the world by storm, releasing material off of Fool’s Gold Records and Worthy‘s Anabatic Records. With an early noontime set at the Pink Stage, Eyes Everywhere is sure provide a smooth groove to start out the HARD Summer Music Festival weekend.
Nina Las Vegas:
This Aussie DJ and host of Triple J’s Mix Up will be taking the Purple Stage midday Saturday and bringing forth her badass style and sensational energy. As the host of Triple J’s Mix Up, Nina Las Vegas brings an incredible track list of tunes, all in a variety of different genres. She consistently demonstrates a versatility in her sound, mixing house, trap, hip-hop, and anything else that tickles her fancy, and just makes it work like magic. She’s definitely an act you don’t want to miss at HARD Summer, as it will be the last stop on her tour of the US, as she heads back to Australia.
London-based producer/DJ will be taking on HARD’s Pink Stage on Saturday night. To simply state that he’s merely a DJ/producer would be far too simple. He’s a major contributor to the dance music scene as a whole, with history as a club promoter, radio host, label founder, and a career as a producer that displays his talent as a remixer, he’s gotten his hands involved in just about every niche of the scene. His discography shows his true history and involvement as a musician, having remixed works from Tame Impala to Justice and collaborated with an array of artists, such as Daniel Avery and The Chemical Brothers. Erol Alkan has played some of the most famous dance music clubs all over Europe, so if you have the chance, catch him at the Pink Stage at HARD Summer this weekend.
Escor Krist B2B Pilo:
This duo will be opening up the Green Stage and their hard techno sounds are definitely the way to start out the second day of HARD Summer Music Festival. Escor Krist is fresh face on the techno scene, although he’s certainly introduced himself with his recent release of his EP, Who The Fuck is EK? Hailing from Los Angeles, Escor Krist developed a love for electronic music at the young age of 17 and he hasn’t stopped since. Now, releasing on the infamous BNR label from Boys Noize, he has crafted a curiously dark and moody style that he’ll be bringing to the Green Stage at HARD Summer. Sharing the stage with Escor Krist is the young prodigy, Pilo. Having released on Turbo Recordings and collaborated with Harvard Bass, it’s evident that Pilo has what it takes to go hard. His productions have received an incredible amount of support from some of the biggest names in dance music, such as Jackmaster, Tiga, and Gesaffelstein. Be sure to catch these two techno titans go back to back at the Green Stage while they lay down some of that LA technom flavor.
Los Angeles native Them Jeans will be opening up the Purple Stage at HARD Summer this Sunday and as someone who’s a major influencer in the LA music scene, you’ll definitely want to catch him. He started out as a party promoter for events like Steve Aoki‘s Dim Mak Tuesdays. Now, Them Jeans hosts weekly parties called Rap Party at Los Globos and frequently plays at venues all over Los Angeles. His style is split between good old house music and rap, as evidenced by many of his mixtapes. Along with hosting weekly parties, he also has two podcasts, Tall Tales, which is centered around comedy and has a variety of guests from Diplo to RiFF RaFF and another podcast, The Stew, which is about food. Make sure to catch Them Jeans as he opens the Purple Stage on Sunday.
Playing a nice afternoon set at the Green Stage, Jimmy Edgar will be taking those in attendance just bit harder with his gritty techno sound. Hailing from the techno motherland of Detroit, Jimmy Edgar is not only a longtime producer, he’s also a graphic designer, filmmaker, and fashion designer. Having played instruments at a very young age, Jimmy Edgar quickly developed a penchant for techno and found himself playing with hometown legends at the young age of 15. This Sunday, he’ll be bringing that hard techno pulse to the Green Stage, be sure to catch it.
