Julio Bashmore Takes Latest Disclosure Single To New Heights With Elevation Mix

Disclosure has really taken the world by storm. As an English duo consisting of two brothers, Howard and Guy Lawrence, these two have single-handedly helped bring mainstream appeal to a once-underground sound. It’s almost like who can even remember a time when the name “Disclosure” wasn’t in big lettering on festival lineups everywhere? Yes, it seems that Disclosure’s music ignites mixes and lights dance floors on fire, almost quite literally, as when their single “When A Fire Starts To Burn”, blew up and continues to be their most played track on Soundcloud, with a measly 7 million plus listens. So when Disclosure released a clip for their latest single “Holding On” featuring the sensual vocals of Gregory Porter, it’s easy to think that nothing could get any better.

While the original track itself has a nice, breezy, summer melody to it, along with the soothing vocals, its remix by Julio Bashmore, indeed, takes it up a notch and makes you want to hold on just a little tighter. The remix takes a harder, darker edge to the otherwise relaxing track. With an intense, rhythmic, underlying drum pattern, a persistently groovy bass line, and filtered vocals, the remix is sure to fuel those long nights on the dance floor. Disclosure tracks are always a great place to start because they already have so much groove, but the Julio Bashmore treatment seems to transition the track from light to dark seamlessly.
