Porter Robinson’s Surprise ‘Kawaii’ Performance

Anime Expo is the largest anime and manga convention in North America held in Los Angeles. As a surprise to fans, Porter Robinson showed up as the mystery headliner at Anime Expo 2015. A devoted and generous fan decided to record a playlist of his performance at the event, and upload it to Youtube for the rest of us to enjoy.

Porter Robinson is known to be an anime fan because of how he incorporated it in his latest LP ‘Worlds’. He allowed fans to ask him questions about his music and his ‘Worlds Tour’ on AMA, which also incorporated anime-like visuals. AMA stands for ‘Ask Me Anything’, which is a forum on Reddit that allows anyone to post questions to a corresponding prompt. One of the questions a fan (adamikachu)  asked on AMA was: “Top 3 anime?! GO!” to which Porter Robinson replied:

“1. Anohana: the flower we saw that day! I cried so fucking hard. It is breathtakingly gorgeous. 2. Ōkami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki. Subs not dubs. 3. Hanasaku Iroha. I was just rooting for ohana so fuckin’ hard. I know I know shittier taste or whatever. I like crying about moe girls.”

How kawaii is that!
