YetepIt’s that time of year! There’s heavier traffic on the streets, emails going off about which assignments are due, and everything begins to wind down. Yep, school is back and summer is pretty much over, leaving us all with a little bit of summertime sadness, but thankfully the doctor is in to give us a shot of some bomb beats to end the summer on a great note!
Los Angeles native and producer Dr. Fresch will be bringing a heavy dosage of thumping beats and unrelenting rhythm as he takes on Big Fun Friday this weekend at the Bar Smith. Having begun his pursuit of a career in electronic music at the young age of 17, Tony Fresch proves that he’s got the musical prowess to conquer cities like Los Angeles and now sets his sights on a much larger takeover. With a background as a classically trained pianist, and history performing in a variety of bands from rock to jazz, Dr. Fresch brings a fresh musical perspective that is sure to revive dance floors everywhere. His style really can’t be defined, as he blends together sounds that range over many different dance music subgenres, like house and garage, but as soon as listeners get caught in the 4/4, he plunges into hip-hop influenced beats that leave your body rocking. Dr. Fresch has provided many of his own powerful productions, such as “Another Level” (which is available as a free download here), but he’s also added some great flavor to popular original tracks by Nelly Furtado, No Doubt, Gucci Mane, Justin Timberlake, and so many more.
As his career continues to skyrocket, it seems that Dr. Fresch only wants to grow closer with his fans and aspiring young producers. Most recently, Dr. Fresch took to Facebook to give fans the opportunity to obtain a package of unreleased edits and remixes that he wanted to share with anyone who liked or shared the update, what happened next really gave fans a look into just how real Dr. Fresch is. Overwhelmed by messages, likes, and shares, Dr. Fresch expressed gratitude as he reached a whopping 4700 likes, showing him exactly the amount of fan support he really has. Dr. Fresch is definitely a name to get used to, as he’s shared his unique sound on giant festival stages, such as Nocturnal Wonderland, the DoLAB stage at Coachella, Moonrise Festival, Paradiso, and so many more. Along with performances, Dr. Fresch also provides a monthly mixtape known as The Prescription, which will resume in September. Get a small dose of that Dr. Fresch flavor in his Splash House mixtape for Thump and make sure you make a necessary visit to the doctor this Friday at BFF at Bar Smith.
