YetepThe Dutch DJ/Producer Sander van Djick, commonly known by his stage name San Holo, is a rising talent in the Future Bass community. After his second EP, Victory, last year, there has been a lot of releases of both originals and remixes from San, and now he is ready to give the world more Future Bass. His title track “New Sky” is a blend between Future Bass and Heaven Trap. It contains the wide hover hook and the energetic drops of Heaven Trap, while baring the relentless melodic keys and the unpredictable drum pattern of Future Bass. This track was able to smoothly combine the great elements from both genres, making it one of the best Future Bass/Heaven Trap fusions as of yet. Check out “New Sky”.
After releasing the first track “New Sky” to great fanfare earlier this month, the EP release brings arguably the most enthralling addition with it, the consummate track “They Just Haven’t Seen It” featuring The Nicholas. This track is a delectable blend of atmospheric synths and punchy bass kick sequences, and perfectly exemplifies San Holo’s ability to create genre-bending productions and club-ready cuts. Coupled with the track comes a visual accompaniment from Dutch director Teemong, the brain behind many of Yellow Claw’s viral music videos. Teemong joined forces with San to produce a hedonistic and emotionally charged video. With strobe like visuals throughout, the camera follows the experience of a girl trying to reconcile with the loss of a loved one, showing how we’ve all experienced loneliness in the middle of a crowd – and how music can sometimes be the only outlet. Enjoy the music video below.
As with the last EP Victory, this EP was also released by the Vancouver based record label Monstercat. His North America tour is highly anticipated, including his debut at Ultra Miami, San Holo is certainly on track to becoming one of the biggest name in dance music this year. San will make a stop in Phoenix at Monarch Theater on April 23 along with Kayzo, and we can expect him to play his new EP there.
