Make Your Mark: Tiesto’s Is Up Late with AFTR:HRS
This week’s Make Your Mark is someone we all know and love. This artist began his career in 1994. He is one of the best and most successful artists in this genre to this day. He has received countless awards for his music, including two Grammy’s ans he has released many successful albums over the years. Most importantly, this guy has started over 10 different labels under which to release music. Needless to say, Tiesto has made his mark on this music industry.
Tiesto’s first record label, Black Hole Recordings, began in 1997 when he released “Majik” and “In Search of Sunrise.” Over the years, many sub-labels came to fruition through Black Hole Recordings.
In 2009, Tiesto released Musical Freedom, a sub-label of Spinnin’ Records, where he released “Kaleidoscope,” which included various collabs with artist like Calvin Harris and Nelly Furtado. This label also helped to rise artists like Hardwell, The Chainsmokers, and Martin Garrix to stardom.
And Tiesto continues impacting the industry every day even with his most recent label, AFTR:HRS.
Tiesto is a very skilled DJ. From his trance beginnings to his transition to progressive house, Tiesto has touched many different genres in EDM. With the new record label AFTR:HRS, Tiesto gets to show the world a different side of him: the deeper side. Tiesto states that he wanted to create a more mellow avenue for various releases, somewhere you can listen to music on a late night drive home.

This label is a month old, but is straight fire! From reading about Tiesto’s countless successes with his music and record labels, it is for certain that AFTR:HRS will be just as impressive and as popular as his other labels. We can only wait and see what kind of new discoveries and successes AFTR:HRS label has to bring! As we all know, history repeats itself.
