Straight Chillin: Daft Punk Gets a Little Magic from K?d

Producer K?d released a remix of the legendary Daft Punk’s “Doin’ It Right” earlier this week – and after listening, it’s safe to say that he’s definitely doin’ something right.

The original track (with Panda Bear from indie group Animal Collective) turns into absolute magic in K?d’s version. If “Doin’ It Right” was a track on Porter Robinson’s Worlds album, it would probably sound like this track. Sparkly sounds, lush synth chords, distorted bell sounds, and occasional mild video game vibes  – it has it all in just the right amounts to create a beautiful journey from start to finish. The song even made its way to the number one spot on Hype Machine.  It could be pretty bold to take on remixing a Daft Punk track but K?D’s got the right idea with this production.

Listen to the track below:

K?d’s Soundcloud will lead you to a number of tracks he’s remixed. Check out his moving mix of GTA’s “Red Lips” or The Weeknd’s “What U Need.” Not much is known about this producer (even his social media handles are @whoskid – that’s what we want to know!), but it’s clear that K?d is catching the attention of the EDM world and it will be interesting to see where he goes from here.
