YetepYou ever have those lonely nights chilling at your house alone waiting for your significant other to get home, your roommate to finish up at work, or even your dog to come back in from the backyard? Sometimes you don’t know what to do with your down time so you just go to your computer, pull up Soundcloud, and search for something that demands your attention? Well, have I a track that not only demands your attention, but one that will also connect with you on a personal level… and isn’t that what art is really for anyway?
This week’s Relentless Beat of the Week is Hunter Siegel‘s track, “Still Waiting,” which dropped about this time last year. Featuring vocalist Delaney Jane declaring, “I do, I still wait up, babe. It’s hard,” we can wholeheartedly say that we are right there with you Delaney… no one wants to be forever alone.

“Still Waiting” is a pitch black foray into the trending future house sound that is contrasted nicely by Jane’s pleasing intonation. Think a beautiful woman wearing black lipstick. Or perhaps a white stallion trudging through a war-torn plain. The point is, the song carries a dark weight that is made beautiful my the light sound of the human voice.
Hunter Siegel is a Canadian producer who got his start producing on his own personal label, but was later discovered by Steve Angello‘s Size Records and signed there. From there Siegel released his first record on Atlantic Records’ dance sub-division, Big Beat, entitled, “Let Me Love You Right” featuring trending dance music vocalist Kai. As of late, Hunter Siegel has been playing festivals like HARD Summer, Electric Zoo, and Splash House in Palm Springs.
In addition, Siegel has just announced a show here in Phoenix where he will be opening up the stage for Bixel Boys on June 11th at Monarch Theatre. Get your tickets for the event here! #NoNeon
