YetepFor the fifth time, Spring Awakening Music Festival brought some of the most well-known electronic music artists to the windy city. This past weekend, thousands joined at the festival’s new location of Addams/Medil Park in Chicago, Illinois. Controversy sparked as the festival relocated from its original residence at Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears.

Due to the city of Chicago’s strict sound ordinances, the festival ended at 10pm every night. This did not stop the crowd of people from enjoying themselves throughout the rest of the night. React Presents, the company that presents Spring Awakening, hosts plenty of after hours events around the city once the main festival ends.
Tommy Trash, Steve Aoki, Flux Pavilion, Zeds Dead, and Ghastly all performed at their own after hours events at the MID, Concord Music Hall, and the House of Blues. All of Chicago’s most popular venues were taken over by electronic music artists for the weekend.

Every year the lineup does not disappoint. Deadmau5, Tiesto, Pretty Lights, Borgore, Kaskade, Skrillex, and Above & Beyond are just some of Spring Awakening’s past headliners. It has grown immensely in the past five years.
