YetepLouis The Child are an electronic music duo from Chicago creating tunes with the goal to simply make people happy. They caught lots of attention from their single with K. Flay “It’s Strange” which racked up over 5 million plays on Spotify and SoundCloud, and have only progressed from there. These guys have appeared on numerous tours supporting Madeon, Kaskade and The Chainsmokers, and are currently in the midst of their first headlining tour.
During their performance at Coachella a few months back they played a song for the first time that had me hooked when listening to the performance on their SoundCloud. They teamed up with with Icona Pop for the track titled “Weekend,” and today it’s finally here.
Icona Pop shares with Pitchfork: “We work hard and play hard, we are constantly jet lagged and we do things at weird times. This song is about our beautiful chaos that we think a lot of people can relate to.” Louis The Child shared a statement on their SoundCloud as well: “The idea for this song was started on a cruise ship, developed in an airport, and finished with a bunch of friends in the studio. Music is a non-stop lifestyle.”
The track displays a refreshing mix of Icona’s poppy sound with LTC’s unique future sounds just in time for a busy summer festival season. Whether you get up and dance, kick back and close your eyes, or jam out in the car, “Weekend” can fit any of these scenario’s perfectly. Arizona will have the pleasure of experiencing a Louis The Child performance at Global Dance Festival on November 19th, and trust me, you won’t want to miss it.
