YetepAfter a stellar 2015, filled with multiple successful hits, the incredibly talented Canadian composer ATTLAS is back with the release of his highly anticipated fourth EP ‘Bloom,’ on mau5trap Records.
The Canadian producer has already garnered attention from leaders like Zane Lowe and label boss himself deadmau5, with previously premiered singles ‘Ryat’ and ‘I Need You More.’ Finally, he has released the entirety of ‘Bloom’.
Bloom features an organic approach to its production, featuring plenty of human elements like guitars, pianos and voices set alongside plenty of electronic atmospheres and rigid beats. Tracks like “Shadow Play” and “Colors” bring enticing vocal collaborations to the mix that elevate the collection’s listenability. The previously heard “Ryat,” meanwhile, serves as Bloom‘s most experimental effort, with whining synths and electronic percussion, while the closer “Avenue Road,” features a largely acoustic backtrack set behind sampled, glitching voices.
Tapping into his training as a classical musician, ATTLAS paints a story of the changing seasons as he pits electronic elements against sharp additions like robust bass guitar chords and bellowing vocal bursts.
