YetepFor this weeks version of EDMovie Madness, I’ll be switching things up a bit. Instead of taking a look at a few music videos we will be turning our attention to an actual EDM movie from the minds of Wiwek and Skrillex.
Instead of just a music video, why not create a film showcasing an entire EP? That’s exactly what wiwek and Skrillex decided to do, and I must say it’s awesome. Directed by Canadian film maker, Jodeb, and titled “Still In The Cage,” is an eighteen minute film that takes you on a journey through Wiweks ‘Free And Rebellious’ EP.
With an ominous aura similar to Skrillex’s music video for “Red Lips,” “Still In The Cage” tells the story of group of friends longing to escape their impoverished lives in Bangkok, Thailand for a mystical place out in the jungle.
Along with it’s storyline the film also serves to display the world of ‘jungle terror,’ Wiweks homegrown genre that combines elements of tropical grime, dubstep, electro, and more. The film premiered at the Ace Hotel in LA on August 17, but is now available to be enjoyed in its entirety.
