DJ Jesse Rose Announces Retirement from EDM

Dedicating over 20 years of blood, sweat and beats into the creation and evolution of electronic dance music, the legendary Jesse Rose announced his retirement via Facebook last week. Don’t freak out just yet; he’s still releasing his highly anticipated album Alright Mate, and embarking on his final World Tour next year before taking his headphones off for good.

Here is the official statement Rose posted on Facebook:

Alright Mate will be the L.A. based DJ’s fourth and final album, following 2014’s The Free Twelve Inches. Although aren’t many details about the upcoming tour, rumors have been confirmed by Rose’s management that it will involve a lot of performances from collaborators and industry friends.

With over 100 original tracks and even more remixes stacked in his discography, Jesse Rose is also the founder of labels Play It Down, Made for the Night, Made to Play and Front Room. After producing under nine aliases and holding residencies at premiere clubs like L.A.’s Avalon, Paris’ The Social Club, and Berlin’s Panorama Bar, the British beat maker has decided to give his body a rest after his 20 year run in the rave scene.

While you’re waiting for Alright Mate to drop and Jesse’s tour to kick off, check out Rose’s most recent work, a contribution to the #SaveFabric movement in support of Fabric nightclub. The track, titled “Suck it and See,” was released in January. Thank you, Jesse Rose, for being a pioneer in the ever-changing world of electronic dance music.
