Just A Gent Remixes Illenium’s ‘Fortress’

James Grant, also known as Just A Gent, is an 18 year old insanely talented producer out of Newcastle, Australia. At such an early age, this talented young lad is yet another hidden gem out of the flood of house producing Australian artists. His unique style of sound combines the high energy of progressive house with the laid back trap kick that has taken the music scene by storm.

James told Triple J Unearthed in an interview a little bit about how he created his sound: “I developed my sound by listening to all different types of electronic music and recreating the sounds. Once I made the sounds I would use that as a basis and then develop on it. Eventually I started to b influenced by own music which ended up creating the Just A Gent sound.”

Just A Gent has remixed tons of names like NGHTMRE, ZHU, and Alison Wonderland to name a few as well as numerous killer singles and his first album ‘Stories To Tell’ released a few months ago, but his latest release is a lovely remix of Illenium‘s track, ‘Fortress.’

‘Fortress” original displays everything that Illenium is about with his melodic dreamy dub, and now Just A Gent’s twist on the track emits everything about the young gent’s style. Just A Gent has combined his super-chilled future bass style with some uplifting dance melodies making for a refreshing twist on the track, both versions truly delightful.
