YetepAussie Native, but LA based producer Wax Motif is constantly making waves. He’s known for his style of “g-house”, but covers many different genres with his funky beats. He recently worked with Destructo on “Catching Plays”, and catching plays is what he’s been doing. Los Angeles based producers, Vindata, like to mix hip hop beats with r&b and indie-pop. The pair has toured with Skrillex and played noteworthy festivals like TomorrowWorld and Hard Summer.
They’ve come together to create this week’s Relentless Beat of the Week, “Crazy”, a wonky bass track about a crazy lovers quarrel:
Wax Motif & Vindata – “Crazy” (Official Video)
This track combines Vindata’s pop-influence with Wax Motif’s bass-heavy style, and it makes for a bass house hit. “Crazy” was released with a music video that depicts what looks like the most intense breakup we’ve ever seen, displayed in chaotic neon animation. It has really high female vocals and contrasting low male vocals It’s dirty and melodic at the same time. At the drop things get, well, crazy.
Wax Motif, alongside Wuki, brings the funky bass to downtown Phoenix on January 21 when he takes over Monarch Theatre. Get tickets here!
